Insurance Coverage - Uninsured, Underinsured, Cost & Barriers
A study to track the number of uninsured and underinsured Iowans, the cost of private market insurance coverage, and other barriers to access to private insurance for Iowans. Based on these findings, DHS is required to make recommendations on further expansion of the IowaCare program.

Indigent Care Task Force
DHS is required to convene a task force to identify growth in uncompensated care due to the implementation of IowaCare, and any local funds that could be maximized with federal matching funds. The task force participants are required to supply data on the cost of indigent care, funding source, etc.

Premium Assistance
Design a program for expansion poppulation members who have access to employer health insurance plans to subsidize that insurance. At least 50% of the cost of the inurance shall be paid by the employer.
