Care for Kids Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT)

EPSDT is a program for children to receive preventative health care services including oral health services. The program's purpose is to find and treat health problems before they become more serious.

Who does EPSDT Cover?

EPSDT covers Medicaid eligible children ages birth through 20 years of age at no charge.

What services are covered by EPSDT?

  • Regular medical checkups
  • Information about growth, diet and development
  • Immunizations (shots) like measles and mumps
  • Regular vision and hearing checkups
  • Regular dental checkups

Where can I get medical care?

To find out if a doctor, clinic or dentist offers Cares for Kids, ask if they are a "Medicaid Provider." Any Medicaid provider can offer the services.
