We want all Iowans to apply if they think they may be eligible. We want people who do become members to benefit fully from Medicaid. We hope you will use our Web site often and feel free to ask questions. Members who understand the most about Medicaid seem to use the program the best.  In turn, they gain the most in improved health and well-being.

That's the State's goal too:  To make sure that all Iowans are as healthy as they can be in return for the money spent on this program.  It's in members' best interest for all of us (the state workers who oversee Medicaid, the members who receive benefits, and the medical professionals who provide services) to work together.

Working together is especially important right now with the funding crunches that face Medicaid.  We want to keep the costs of running Medicaid low so we have as many dollars as possible to spend on healthcare itself.
