Iowa Medicaid Enterprise (IME) supports the electronic submission of claims. Through electronic submission, you are able to submit claims more accurately. You also receive your Medicaid payments sooner than if you submitted paper claims.

Effective July 1, 2005, the Iowa Medicaid Enterprise (IME) has contracted with a new company to process Medicaid claims currently being processed by ACS, the current fiscal agent.

As part of this change, there is a new clearinghouse to receive electronic claims transactions.
The new clearinghouse is EDI Support Services (EDISS To begin the enrollment process for electronic claims to IME all offices must complete these steps:

  • Fill out the appropriate EDI paperwork
  • Complete claims registration forms (837P, 837I, or 837D) along with the EDI Enrollment form
  • If you will be using PC-ACE Pro32, the PC-ACE Pro32 Software Sublicense Agreement will need to be completed as well
  • All forms must be filled out completely and signed in ink by the provider
