Health Information Technology and Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Payment Program

Iowa States Medicaid EHR Incentive Program is playing an important role in establishing critical health information technology designed to reduce costs, improve care and advance coordination across the healthcare platform, leading to better coordination, quality of care, and healthier lives. As of December 30, 2013, Iowa has approved payments to nearly 1438 eligible professionals and hospitals with a total close to $94 million dollars in incentive payments.

2013 EHR Incentive Program Attestation Deadline

Eligible Providers attesting to (Adopt, Implement, and Upgrade) AIU or 90 days of Meaningful Use for the 2013 incentive year must complete their attestation by March 1, 2014.

Recent system issues have prevented providers who were ready to attest to 365 days of Meaningful Use from completing their attestations. Iowa Medicaid is extending the 2013 EHR Incentive Attestation deadline to April 4, 2014 for  providers who have been affected by this issue.
