Welcome to the Web Site for Members!

This site is for:

  • People who receive Medicaid.

  • People who want to know more about Medicaid before they apply.

  • Others such as family members, a friend, or another interested person. These people might be helping a Medicaid member or applicant as they apply or seek services.

We want all Iowans to apply if they think they may be eligible. We want people who do not become members to benefit fully from Medicaid. We hope you will use our Web Site often and feel free to ask questions. Members who understand the most about Medicaid seem to use the program the best. In turn, they gain the most in improved health and well-being.

That's the state's goal too: To make sure that all Iowans are as healthy as they can be in the return for the money spend on this program. It's in members' best interest for all of us (the state workers who oversee Medicaid, the members who receive the benefits, and the medical professionals who provide the services) to work together.

Working together is especially important right now with the funding crunches that face Medicaid. We want to keep the costs of running Medicaid low so we have as many dollars as possible to spend on healthcare itself.

We'd like for you to become our partners in reaching this goal.

New Programs

Member Services has two new programs that are free. There is a new disease management program that was started for Iowa Medicaid members with chronic diseases like diabetes, asthma, and heart disease. There is also a maternity program for members who are pregnant. The programs are designed to help answer any questions you may have and to improve your health.

As an enrollee of the program:

  • You will have your own personal Health Coach. Registered nurses are available to help you manage your health.
  • You can get help finding a Primary Care doctor. Your Health Coach can also explain tests your doctor may order and why they are needed.
  • Your Health Coach can help you schedule appointments. He or she can help you find specialists, if needed.
  • You will have access to health education materials to help you better understand your health condition.

We invite you to call us at the toll free number below. Health Coaches are available Monday-Friday, 8a.m. to 5p.m. to discuss the program in detail. In Des Moines call 515-256-4606 or 800-338-8366 for free enrollment.

Remember, we are partners in your health and wellness. Call us today to take the first, positive step towards living a healthy and productive lifestyle!
